• The Nkrb4326 Rib is a family of a Trio of Classic ribbing we offer: This one is the Performance Rib because of its polyester content giving it Great “Spring Back” quality and retains shape after washing. It’s a 10 Gauge Knit. This is the rib to use when you are trimming /edging a garment and where performance is vital.

We have 3 Great 2 x1 Ribbed Fabrics in this collection, Each with a different Thickness, Look and Function.

• The other two ribs on offer (see separate listings: nkrb4327 and nkrb7442) are 100% Acrylic, and are more CHUNKIER – see the comparison pictures. They are softer in feel as they are 100% Acrylic, but less resilient than the ones with Polyester mix. The use of each is for buyers to see its use, function, handle and look. We suggest you buy a sample of each.

• 100% Acrylic rib will give a much softer handle, but the inherent quality of the material is that Acrylic will not spring back or be resilient as much as a fabric that’s combined with polyester. However, buyers won’t feel over performance in some cases and also the chunkier the ribs are they will have their own strength and body to compensate for the lack of polyester. 100% Acrylic rib fabrics need more care; It just means they need to be washed by hand and dried FLAT and SHAPING them to retain the structure of the rib. This is normal for any 100% acrylic garment to maintain its look and shape.

This Quality is nkrb-4326: Acrylic/Poly Mix 2×1; A Great Rib Jersey with a Great Feel & Elastane Stretch Properties. Really Versatile & can be Used for Trimmings, for Waistbands & Cuffs but also as a Plain Body Fabric. A Knitted Rib Fabric with Stretch Resilient & Good Wear Properties. NB There is No Elastane in this Fabric but Polyester which gives it Stretch & Resilience.

This Quality nrb4326 has Polyester added with the Acrylic which gives this 2×1 Rib a Distinct Elastane Quality & Property. It’s a Medium Weight Rib Suitable for Everything. If you want a Performance Rib for Good Wear & Constant Resilience with good Wash Properties (will not go limp after wash) This is the one to go for. A really popular choice as it’s a rib knit which is both Functional and Resilient. The Polyester content in the ribbing fabric gives resilience and recovery properties.
